ENYP was officially launched in September 2007 as a Christian charity to oversee and develop youth work initially in Greater Norwich. Over recent years, our work has expanded to cover Norfolk and the surrounding counties, supporting children, young people, and local communities, predominantly in deprived areas. We are a registered charity, supported by local churches, schools, agencies, and volunteers.
ENYP provides a wide range of youth work, children’s activities, and community initiatives and projects. We work with over 2,500 children and young people through our programmed activities, engage with thousands through our schools and community work, and deliver hundreds of initiatives. Our aim is to empower young people, fostering their growth into well-rounded individuals and responsible members of society, as well as supporting the needs of the wider community through a range of initiatives.
ENYP exists to promote the mental, spiritual, social, moral, and physical development of young people within Norfolk and the surrounding areas (the area of benefit), regardless of their ethnic group, political persuasion, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs. Our aim is to help young people develop their full capabilities so that they may grow to maturity as well-rounded individuals and become responsible members of society.
Education
We believe there are many ways to learn. We allow space for trust and safety to be felt and nurture the voice and opinions of others in a democratic fashion.
Ultimately we are here to listen to, empower and develop those we encounter, whilst remaining humble and willing to learn from others.
Integrity
We strive to be authentic and consistent in everything we do. Accepting our own limits and humbly asking to support or advice when needed.
We follow through on what we say we’ll do and seek to extol self-control and discipline.
Ultimately, we practice what we preach.
Holistic
We are committed to exploring and supporting all areas of need: physical, mental, moral and spiritual. We aim to be non-judgemental and inclusive in all areas of provision.
Character
Respect should be displayed at all times, granting forgiveness and grace where needed.
We accept that each of us is a ‘work in progress’ but appreciate lessons delivered with love is often what’s needed.
We believe in clear channels of accountability to ensure transparency.
Relationship
We are social beings and work best in partnership and collaboration with others.
By setting clear boundaries and professional boundaries we role model respectful relationship expectations to others.
We accept all people as equal and of having worth, gifts and value.
